Everything in wood
Every exceptional structure begins with a considered foundation and wood as its principal material. We have a genuine appreciation for what can be made from it — from massive heavy timbers and architectural beams to handcrafted doors, custom corbels and one-of-a-kind details.
Creating beautiful woodwork in Texas takes more than craftsmanship. Temperatures climb well above 100°F. Intense sun, humidity, sudden storms, unpredictable rainfall and expansive soils all place real demands on a structure. Wood is constantly responding to its environment, taking on and releasing moisture, expanding and contracting, moving with every season. With heavy timber those forces matter more, not less. Massive beams need proper support, thoughtful joinery, carefully designed connections, and an understanding of how the wood will behave once the structure is finished. That is where craftsmanship becomes construction science.
We believe the details you don't immediately see are as important as the ones you do — the foundation, the connections, the way they are supported, how water is moved away from the structure. Every decision determines how the project performs over time. From a single handcrafted detail to an entire outdoor living structure, the philosophy is the same: understand the environment, and never compromise.
How the two of us started
DC Signature Woodworks began with two carpenters who happened to hold the same standards. Dean and Chase met on the job, and what Dean recognized in Chase was someone who genuinely cared about the quality of the work — and who would rather be building than sitting behind a desk.
That shared commitment — doing exceptional work, taking pride in the details, building something you can stand behind — became the foundation for the company.

Dean has been working wood since high school, when he started building furniture and found the thing he would keep coming back to — an early appreciation for the material, and for the satisfaction of making something by hand.
That grew into a career in custom cabinetry and luxury home remodeling. Decades of hands-on work, much of it alongside designers from Coronado to New York, with finished craftsmanship standing from Pasadena to La Jolla. Along the way he owned and operated several companies specializing in high-end residential construction, custom woodworking and luxury remodeling.
That combination of design experience and craftsmanship is at the heart of DC Signature Woodworks today.
Chase Sisco · Co-owner
Building has been part of Chase's life for as long as he can remember. He grew up working alongside his father, who built large pergolas and overhead structures for builders, learning the craft first-hand from an early age.
Those years taught him more than how to build. They gave him an appreciation for what goes into making something with your hands, and a belief that if a thing is worth building, it is worth building right.
He takes particular pride in architectural woodwork that feels substantial and distinctive — work worthy of the homes and outdoor spaces it becomes part of. For Chase, quality isn't an upgrade. It's the standard.

We're licensed and insured, and we'll show you the certificates before you ask. For waterfront work that matters more than most people realize — several Texas water authorities require the contractor to carry specific coverage and name them as an additional insured before a permit can even be submitted.
